Oct. 2017 - Patrick's work on investigating the kinetics and fidelity of supramolecular copolymer formation using dynamic lights scattering is published in Macromolecules (read more).

Oct. 2017 - Together with the JCF Mainz and the LOB-project, we are organizing an alumni-evening on the 24th October for the undergraduate student exchange programs of our chemical institutes, supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Sept. 2017 - The group welcomes Libin Wu, who joins us as visiting student from Fudan University, supported by the MAINZ Graduate School of Excellence Guest PhD Program.

Jun. 2017 - Lydia is awarded a Werner Schwarze scholarship from the Evonik Foundation, to support her PhD project on redox-responsive supramolecular materials.

May 2017 - Hien Le wins the second prize in the national competition 'Jugend forscht' in Erlangen for her project on Polymer Origami: Synthesis and Characterisation of Self-Folding Hydrogel Layers, and is awarded a research stay at the University of Rhode Island,USA.

May 2017 - The group welcomes Jacob Van Reet, who joins us as DAAD-ISAP visiting undergraduate student from the University of Toronto.

Apr. 2017 - Hien Le wins the first prize in the federal competition 'Jugend forscht' in Ludwigshafen for her project on Polymer Origami: Synthesis of Multi-Responsive and Self-Folding Hydrogel Systems (link to the BASF news release). Hien will present her work at the national competition in Erlangen in May. The German television channel SWR produced a short documentary which will be aired on May 24th.

Apr. 2017 - Benedict will present a lecture and a poster at the ACS Spring Meeting in San Francisco, and will be supported by a DAAD travel award.

Feb. 2017 - The DAAD has approved funding for the International Study and Training Partnership (ISAP) with the University of Massachusetts Amherst, which supports student exchanges between Mainz and UMass.

Feb. 2017 - Visiting high school student Hien Le wins three prizes in the regional competition 'Jugend forscht', including the 1st prize in chemistry and the prize for the best interdisciplinary project. Hien will present her work at the federal competition in Ludwigshafen in April.

Feb. 2017 - Vanessa will present a lecture and a poster at the AMN8 conference in Queenstown, New Zealand.

Jan. 2017 - Former student Hendrik is awarded a prestigious Leopoldina Scholarship to perform postdoctoral work with Prof. Christopher Barner-Kowollik at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia.

Dec. 2016 - The Besenius lab goes 'Kegeln' with collaborators and friends for this year's Christmas party.

Sep. 2016 - Our annual group retreat with great talks, food and wine took place in Siersthal, Northern Vosges Natural Park.
